Description

Blender, Poser, Photoshop, Fireworks --- Hello, and thanks for viewing my work! And an extra thanks to those who take the time to comment and favorite. This is my entry into Voleuro's Being Different contest on deviantART (currrently in voting). It was inspired by 3D Abstract Spine by blickfangQ2 (please check out his gallery on deviantART). I made the basic scene, clothes and drape in Blender. I posed the main figure (V4 WM), did the cloth sims in Poser with a windforce, and posed the secondary figure (Posette) in Poser. Then I brought all pieces back into Blender for editing and sculpting, gave them all Cycles materials, and set up a particle system on the floor of the scene. I rendered it in Blender with Cycles, touched it up with Photoshop, and finished it off with Fireworks. It was harder to do than say, but also much more fun. Credits: V4 WM by the Poser Place crew (RDNA) Camielle for V4 by Morris (DAZ3D) Cycles skin and marble shaders based on work by blazraidr (Blender Artists forum)

It's such an amazing image--I like scrolling down and seeing the contrast between the proud figure above and the sad humble ones below--it can be read so many ways. Great art makes you think as well as feel.:D

The message is indeed thoroughly inspiring: the Olympic Spirit comes to mind, here, at least, until you scroll down and see the cowering figures at the base of the tower. The messages are strong, too - mono-chromic (representing all-the-same) colouring of the many, who seem directionless (all facing different directions), all faceless, all on the ground as opposed to being on elevation, in the wind... colours, action, life. Freedom is like that.Your image is a celebration of freedom!

Very inspiring image. The proud stance, dynamism and colour of the main figure, versus the surrounding prone monochrome figures, tells a powerful story! Most excellent work!
