Description

Mid-April saw us leaving Utah and heading across Northern Arizona. We stayed five days at the campground at Wahweap Bay just outside Page, Arizona, recuperating from our whirlwind romp across Utah's National Parks. They were fabulous, but by the time we were done, we needed a serious break! There was something incredibly soul soothing about this place.

This is a beautiful vista and I appreciate everything the desert has to offer. But give me the mountains and streams any day. I have spent more time in the desert then I care to. idk, just something at my core that makes me not really like deserts. oh.. I know.. 112 degrees just ain't natural! and the darn sun is always out. gah.. no direct sunlight in the mountains. gotta love that. Let it snow!!!!!

Awesome! The place is fantastic and you've captured it so well! I love the texture of the water, one can feel the wind on the surface of the lake, and the color contrast between the lake and the land is magnificent.

Deserts. I have yet to experience a real one, but the one's I've read about are interesting, especially since the most famous one, Dune is based on...um...the Pacific Northwest and beach dunes...and the second most famous desert, Tattooine is...well...Namibia, and so bearing that in mind, I should probably visit a desert at some point soon. In the meantime, I'll enjoy shots like this, and I have to say that this is quite deliciously otherworldly, and what's not to like about that!? This is making a trip into my favorites! Oh, and there might be a story in that busy part in the water. How odd to see it. How...well...alien even if it's something totally logical and of this world. Well...for me, this world is Chicago, and we ain't got stuff like that here. Nope, so that makes this shot officially alien by Chicago standards. Hmmm...Chicago needs to get out more.

Beautiful though it is, I should be starved of GREEN after an hour or so! I am very spoilt living in a sea of it, I suppose.
