Description
We are still with the male lion that left his pride to go fight off a rogue young male who was trying to intrude in his pride. He was on his way back to the pride here and most definitely walked with a purpose - to get back to his ladies and to mark his territory. The conditions were far from ideal for taking pics - early morning with sun and deep shade patches - but I had to show you guys this. I love the dust kicked up by his front paw.

He let his pride go before a fall, or visa versa. The fellow appears rather tired after defending his territory against the interloper, that pretender to the throne. In any event, a fine shot of the King of the Beasts, Carin.

He looks very healthy and I don't see any wounds from chasing off the rogue lion. He must have a nasty reputation and just scared off the younger lion. This episode must have been a super thrill - except for that Canadian partner. :>)
