Description
Captured 5/12/10 at the beautiful Whittier Narrows Recreation Area in not-so-beautiful South El Monte, California.
Original on top, taken with a SLR with a 28-200mm lens, sans postwork. Wasn't sure which one I liked best so I've posted both of them. Top shot the most dramatic, bottom one the most revealing, with far less contrast.
I have more shots of it, displayed at various POVs.
Adios, muchachos, and have a nice day.

My preference goes to the top!!! Great work!!!!!

How beautiful! Is this a natural waterway, or is it man-made? Not that it matters, I'm just curious. I like both versions, with maybe a slight edge to the bottom shot, since as you stated there is more to be seen that's obscured a little in the shadows in the original. Great work, Harry!

They are both beautiful, but I like the first one better. This is probably because, having lived in hot places most of my life, I have a deep appreciation of cool shady areas. The first image gives me that feeling of a cool relaxing spot without the loss of much of the detail in the shaded areas. The second one, while quite beautiful, does not make me think, "Ah, blissful shade!"
