Description
This is another place we stayed in the Canadian Rocky Mountains. The Banff Springs Hotel is a huge 768 room luxury hotel, constructed in Scottish Baronial style and located in Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada. It originally opened on June 1, 1888 and it is located near all of the five places that I have shown you so far! After a massive fire, a wholly new structure was built, to replace the original 1888 hotel with a new building of concrete and faced with stone, reopening in 1911. The hotel provides fantastic views of the Bow Valley, Bow Falls and is close to thermal springs. You would be surrounded by lush green mountains including Mount Rundle, which frequently is cited in geology books for its exposed and tilted ancient sea beds. Some info from Wikipedia. If I remember correctly this hotel was just outside Banff. I remember passing it on the way to Lake Louise! Nice shot Dana.

Quite a majestic looking 'Fort' ;)) (Hotel) - I cannot believe the colour, so triste but very sturdy though, any earthquake would withstand ... no doubt? I am looking forward, to some more from that trip, I would love to see that myself one day, should I ever visit Canada ... Impressive image, Dana BB
