Description
I've had a few enquiries as to " what's going on at 'The Plant' "...well, we're still here :-) Real world matters have kept me otherwise occupied but I still get down there now and again to check on things. The staff have been great, and my newly appointed Foreperson, Lady Gloria Wellstacked has been keeping things ( and Tailspin ) on track. Following the Battle of the Atlantic commemorations in May, the staff asked about making a contribution to the memory of this historic event. They've been hard at work and this 'little project' has taken on a life of it's own. It now seems to be headed towards a celebration of not only this great victory but also of a great aircraft company....Yesterday saw the start of the Summer shutdown, everyone packed their bags and headed for the Isle of Mann for 3 weeks R'n'R. Lady Gloria and I will be going over some research and finalizing her position in my office.....and Tailspin has taken his usual chalet at MOFO Beach on Sexotic Island. Well that's about it for now, more as and when it happens.......

Oh, my, what a beautiful photo, Neil. Slow as they were, the Stringbags seemed to be notoriously difficult to hit from head on. The all time favourite was to nearly skim the waves, putting them below the maximum depression of the enemy anti-aircraft guns, then try to hit at as close a range as possible. But slowness also gave early warning and evasive action. It sure was an adventure to fly and attack in one of these. Brave men doing their job. Am looking foreward to the next roll-out from the Plant (and it's NOT a cactus, if I'm correct!). Keep up the good work, Neil! :-)
