Description

One of my favourite roses after rain. I sometimes suffer from what is says in the title when I see blatant misuse of benefit money. I come from a generation where if you can't afford a sofa you sit on orange boxes till you have saved enough. ZERO CREDIT leads to a happy life. Gosh, my second political comment in as many days...I must exercise more restraint!

I am in complete agreement with you Andrea. Save hard for what you want and by the time you have enough you will probably realize that you can do without it anyway!! I like your rose very much.

A beautiful bloom well captured!Agreed the world is credit mad! I thought politicians stood on orange boxes or soap boxes, while public speaking too! Soft furnishings lead most of them to scandal!

Wonderful and beautiful capture Andrea I'm like you in that regard. If I want something, I set money aside long enough to afford it. and I budget my money accordingly: Bills and other vital things (power, food. shelter, etc) other bills. then set aside a certain amount for emergencies, then playtime

I am totally with you Andrea on the credit thing. I am a 'simple man', and if I can't afford it I don't buy it. I am probably the least materialistic person I know. I live in my own house at the beach surrounded my 'mansions', but I don't even own a heater or an air conditioner (except in the car)! If it's cold, I put on a jumper. If it's not, I take it off! Even though I often shoot expensive cars, if truth be told I actually don't want or need any of them. I just like the sound and shine of them.........I like cars that get me from A to B!

I think that this is a lovely rose and in this case it is improved by the raindrops. Bring on your political comments, it is good for your mind and that makes me feel that we are not alone. Yes, that did feel good - how about you??? :o)

There you go again, Andrea, off on another one of your impassioned rants on the nature of things as they are. Actually, I'm with you on this monetary policy. As a product of the Great Depression, I keep my credit due as near to zero as possible. Other than that, stellar blending of color in this lovely capture of the raindrop-bedewed pink rose, as fresh and pert as a daisy.

Oh Andrea, see what you've started. During the American Civil War the Union admiral David Farragut attacked the Confederate city of Mobil, Alabama. As his flotilla approached Mobile Bay he was warned by one of his officers that the waters were heavily mined. "Damn the torpedoes! Full speed ahead." he reportedly said. He won the battle. So damn the torpedoes, speak you mind. No one can fire you and the worst that will happen here is that someone might call you a poopy head (at least that's the ;level of discourse here in the colonies). As for me, I learned all my lessons the hard way and today I carry no debt whatsoever. And this is a gorgeous rose and superb image. I can see why it is one of your favorites.

The rose is splendid with amazing color and the added water drops completing the photo. People need to go out after or during a rain more frequently. I agree about misused benefits, it sickens me, but you didn't really tell just what got under your skin on this one. Credit is probably the worst thing merchants have done for mankind! On this side of the pond it is totally out of control with 25 year-olds buying $75,000 trucks, then looking at $40,000 boats to add on behind. They will still be paying 10 years after they have lost both!

A wonderful capture of a beautiful rose, the recent wet weather was needed and the garden's should now be a little better for it. On the subject of credit, on or off benefit if somebody thinks they can have anything they like when they like they are clearly knowing the price of everything and the value of nothing. If on benefits I fail to see how they could do so because it would all be taken up on mostly bills and groceries... not for luxuries although one or two is not a crime if they have been saved up for. You appreciate thing more when you have saved up and then purchased it. I remember the days when you could go into a shop and put things by and pay on easy terms until the day came of the final payment and you take it home... also COD... all in the past it seems.

This is stunning, Andrea; a favourite colour and the drops are perfect. Sorry to be a little late, my mum's in hospital so I've been a bit distracted...

What a beautiful rose, and the drops add to its pulchritude. I'm with you on the credit thing. We don't buy anything we don't have the money for!
