Description
I wish I had worn a bathing suit
I wish I had a pair of swimming goggles
I wish I had a plastic bag to protect my camera
I wish I had left my wallet and cell phone in the car
I wish I had an anti fogging wipe for my camera lens
Notice that there are no other people standing around in this section of the Gorge.
The granite walls are 70 to 90 feet (21 to 27 meters) and are 12 to 20 feet (3.7 to 6.1 meters) wide. The noise of the rushing water is louder than Niagara Fall because of the confining space and the trees overhead. Can�t wait to go back next year.

Wow, what a shot!! I remember walking along the Merced River one early spring and having the sound bounce off the granite boulders that line the river. It seemed like the sound came from the rocks rather than the river. Amazing what water can do and the noise it can make. This is simply awesome!!

LOL @ your text!! and noticing... prior to reading just thought it was almost heroic to walk there and even more to get pics and WHAT A PIC, WOW!!! not even a path?!! sinc. hope no damage was done!! awesome place, dito pic!! TYSM for sharing!! (I ruined my Nikon 35mm compact once on a pilot boat, on which we took our visitors to see our town from 'a diff. angle'. it had sailed for months in a row. it happened to be not wave proof. :-( )
