Description

We have reached the end of my hike up through the gorge and now you see the beginning of the flow of water. This is Avalanche Falls which is only about 25 feet high but is a magnitude 25, class 1, horsetail shaped waterfall. The mist does not help the quality of the photos so I posted two views. The left was from below looking up and the right side is obviously a side view and I had almost reached the top of the falls at this point. In my research, I did find an amateur video, if you want to view the 7 or 8 minute hike up through the gorge and get a sense of the noise and water flow. You can tell by the waterfall at the end that they did not have the volume of water that we had so double the roar of the water in the video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ugtiw-JbxE Thanks for stopping by, taking a look and for all your previous favs and comments. What a great shot, Dana!! This is such a pretty area of our State of NH...so much beauty in a small state!!! Not many states can boast about the beautiful, deep, dark forests, waterfalls....AND beautiful beaches!!! We truly live in a wonderful place!!!
