Description
One of the great things about losing weight is that your energy level goes through the roof. You start doing things you’ve put off for months, like vacuuming. You may even get around to buying a membership to the local botanic garden. We have a really nice one only a few miles from me. The South Coast Botanic Garden is 184 acres of wildly mixed vegetation so I have a lot to explore. First up is a lovely orange dahlia and offspring.

The title makes suggest something else. Dahlias are in their diversity so fantastic flowers. I like their filled head..... like a Chinese lantern.

The mother looks too perfect to be real. It made me think of a woman just out of the beauty parlor with each hair immaculately fixed in place. The child looks a little more disheveled. Beautiful capture. Superb colors, detail, and light.
