There is a tree growing right at the entrance to my condominium complex that has these tumors growing on it. They remind me of the important part of a bull (to the bull at least). Round and hairy, I finally got around to taking a picture of them.
I had intended to call this image “Bollocks” after the British slang term for that part of the anatomy. But when I stared through the viewfinder I saw someone staring back at me.
So, let me introduce you to my new neighbor Mister Bollocks.

Whenever I hear the word bollocks, which granted isn't that often, I think of Colm Meany in the movie "the Snapper." A neighbor, a bit older then him, had been saying not nice things about his daughter. When confronted, the neighbor tried to say he had it wrong. Colm Meany got right up in his face and rather aggressively said, "Wrong, me bollocks!" By the second, "Me bollocks" the neighbor gave up and apologized profusely. It's a very funny movie. This is a great shot! Wonderful detail and textures. The first face I saw was misshapen, like a potato head. But then what had been a mouth, turned into two eyes and I saw a cherubim face, very young and rather sweet. Not at all the sort to be sporting hairy bollocks. They must belong to someone else.
