Wow! Rich and velvety, especially that bottom one; you got the texture perfectly, Harry, and that's not so easy...well done!

An amazing contrast from the rose shot I just commented on. When I glanced at these the first time, I thought they might have been postworked for effect or fun...but when I looked closely I realized, this is how they look. As Denise said, you got the textures perfectly; and also, the very hard-to-capture light. In all of them, the light seems to emanate from within, the yellows in the center of #1 are almost 'alit', the deep yellows of #2 are really striking, and the white areas of #3 are, again, captured almost as much as light as hue. And your capture of shadows makes them feel like they're bubbling out of water (or made of bubbling silk). Wonderful texture and hues, with a rich array of leaves in backgrounds; and a fine piece of composition in the bottom shot, pitting bricks/wall/patio (etc) against the flower, on an angle, as if the background were constructed for the shot. It looks like a tough spot to get a good shot, and you managed to turn all those contrasts into a fine compositional background. These beautiful captures are a refutation to the famous phrase, "a rose is a rose is a rose". Nope. Every rose is unique, as your series always attests...
