Description
This is a semi-cactus fimbriated dahlia called a Pink Pastelle. It is quite showy as you can see. It took forever to identify. As a result I am getting a real education.

It is kind of like a treasure hunt trying to identify some of the flowers out there, if you go to the botanical garden and they have signs next to some of the flowers I would suggest taking photos of those signs before your photos so you can remember all the names beautiful shot

Beautiful flower and capture! I like the orange tone of the petals in the center and the way that the petals become gradually more pink and disheveled the further from the center they are. Wonderful back-lighting and post work. I really like the texture of the petals and the low saturation on the background. Thanks for the identification. I looked it up and was asked if I meant pink pastel and shown a lot of lips, china, shoes, and even a pink faucet raining down pink doubloons. When I added dahlia, I had much better luck. I read that "This plant is likely to need stalking." I looked again and realized that it was not needy of obsessive observation, but rather of 'staking'.
