Description

One step in the process of slimming down the "County" model to produce a Solomon's campaign version of HMAS Australia. The Royal Australian Navy's flagship was refitted in the late 1930s, giving her a leaner and hopefully meaner silhouette- unlike the classic lines of HMAS Canberra. She still has her torpedo tubes and catapault and the older style mainmast but her secondary armament is now 4x twin 4-inch guns and a pair of multibarrel pom-poms amidships plus more 20 mm Oerlikons. Unfortunately there is a real shortage of good closeups of her superstructure at this time in her career, so details are scant. Modelled and rendered in Shade 10.5 Thanks for viewing and comments.
