Description
I've never seen a forest fire but the leftovers that I have seen here, make a devastating impression on me. We were on our way from the Grand Canyon to Flagstaff back (I do not remember which road). At another point, the charred trees lay like burnt matchsticks in the landscape.

Juli, ist dies eine sehr dramatische Foto . Das Gebiet ist durch das Feuer völlig zerstört.

There is going to be lots of scenes like this now... The Yosemite wildfire is still burning huge tracts of land in the West. Sad.

Ok, I know I'm probably going to take some heat for this - fire is a way for the land and plants to renew themselves. Man made fires are the exception then people are just idiots.

Dramatic landscape. Well done.

It's so horrible when a fire happens. Great shot!

It's tragic and such a beautiful landscape that will take years to recover, thank you for showing this

Sad to see the damages from the fire. Hopefully this place will rebirth and become strong in nature. Excellent Photography. Aloha

It does look quite empty, Australia has a strange ecosystem with many plants relying on bush fires for there seeds to germinate. What looks like devastation has been happening for millions of years and most ecosystems are well equipped to deal with it. Before long new seeds will sprout and the animals will return. Unlike polluted water supplies, heavy metal residues and other man made problems.

Lots of fires this year Juli! Been to this area also....beautiful but very dry! Wonderful woods to walk in....

We get them quite often in Australia, but honestly the fire is actually beneficial to the land in the long term. "Pyrophile" plants require fire in order to complete their cycle of reproduction.

I took that road too and seen stuff like this also. may be the same ???. anyway I wish you saw Red Mountain that would have been on the right side of the road from the way you going. there is only a small sign that would say red mountain . It a volcano that have it side blow out. You have to hike in on a trial for about a mile but it worth it. May be next time.

richtig erschreckend.

Beautiful mountain vista. The desolation is softened by the new grass that is already growing. Soon the seeds under the earth will grow and this area will be on the way to recovery.

The photo is sublime, and perfectly taken. So very separate this trees-cemetery, and the desolate in it. Grosse Klasse, Berliner-Mädchen!

impressive shot

I know fires are natural and sometimes necessary for new growth, but it is sad to see the aftermath and it takes a long time to recover.
