Great work on this capture, Harry. That shadow helps highlight the manhole cover.

Circles, stripes, and hexagons! Very cool! That's a very pretty manhole cover and I don't think it could be captured any better. The contrast between the hexagons and background are really pretty, and the lines of shadow and light set them off beautifully. Wonderful detail and light. It looks really great on zoom. I like this a lot!

Manhole cover? I think it's a doorway to another dimension; you can clearly see the instructions for use printed neatly all across the face of it in the language of that place. It must be that the fence shadows render its camouflage spells useless, so that we can see what it is in truth. Or not... What a wonderful capture you've got here, sir; stellar light/shadow and contrast, and I love how the cracked cement all around it looks like someone tried to pull the whole doorway free!

great bunch of comments. This is terrific. I agree with Andrea's "Glorious" and lucinda and denise (I always agree with them)---a wonderful play of lines and shapes and dark and light, etc. And yeah, the forms on the cover do look like carvings/glyphs from another civilization, or maybe an ancient Central American calendar. (Like that big Aztec one? Aztec, right? To the sun god, or something---I don't remember. But in this capture, it has that kind of feeling.) You caught it at a terrific time, with the shadows across it, while the spray-painted letters/numbers---can't tell what they say---add to its mystery. As does the crater around the cover---I agree with denise again, someone tried to pull it free. Very suggestive, fine light---I just looked at your description and yep, that's your signature early morning light!---and fine framing and angle. Another of your captures of the language, speech and music of the things around you. Fine work.
