Description
Another attempt to capture mood and atmosphere of a moment.
Comments and critique are very welcome as always.
This image still doesn't look like my original idea, but it's been many months in development and at some point I completely abandoned it, until it felt fitting for a recent challenge I hosted at DAZ forums. Except the original cloth drape, everything got changed since my old abandoned draft (and the cloth draped objects were morphed to fit the new pose). With the changes, it started to get a different mood and direction. Enough of both for me to consider giving this image an audience. So I submitted the image into the challenge. But I am still not sure it works.
Content credits:
- V4 is wearing a crazy mix shader that uses several different character maps (Elite Lana, Reby Sky, Danae's London) in different channels to create a more realistic multi-layered skin effect.
- V4 with Danae’s London morph and my own body morph.
- Hair is Trixie Hair by Lady Littlefox.
- Dresses are 2 dynamic items from Neoclassical Gown and Robe, draped over each other in DS, exported in their messed up state (the collision didn’t want to work properly) and then fixed manually in Carrara to fit the character (with the pose and body shape altered later, I was too lazy to re-drape) and to play nice with each other.
- The room and the open book (I morphed it to fit the figure’s pose) are from “IN Fantasy RiverCottage” by winnston1984 with one of HolyForest’s painted surfaces shaders (colour-modified) from one of his packs he used to sell here.
- The armchair is from Faveral’s excellent, Carrara-supporting, Kelly Lodge. I love that product!
- The books are from DM’s Chronicles. (Extracted from bookshelf, which comes as a single prop in the package with a few extra things attached.)
- Millennium Cat with Livia Zita’s Real Fur for the Millennium Cat, and textures from the cat bundle driving the hair shader colours.
- HDRI background is from DimensionTheory’s Skies Of Terra.

it works beautifully for me. The tilted view and the corresponding warmth flowing over here is an absolute formula for the unintended nap. And Napster the cat will never miss such a chance. Pure wonder and life here. You've captured a moment that is common to us all and that we cherish!

Looks absolutely great though. Ahhh Carrara.

Why such nostalgia? :) Don't you use Carrara these days? And if you don't, then may I ask why?

This is really beautiful, a stunning portrait that conveys a mood of relaxed afternoon contentment! (I got here looking at the gallery for IN Fantasy RiverCottage, which of course you didn't really use much of, but I'm glad I got to see your amazing image, even if it is nearly 10 years later!)
