Description

Today October 24 2013 Buster lost his fight with an illness following a horrid allergic reaction to something. The rash was cured by a steroid jab, but he went downhill, and after two nights in hospital on drips his vet and I decided enough was enough. He had a very happy life after his rescue to my pack, which he led after the demise of Hetty the poodle, and he was my most experience Caring Canine, loved by all he visited. Don't be too sorry for me, He was my 15th dog of 18 (so far !) and although it is very sad when someone dies, there are the living to see to! I broke a rule today and didn't take them to see the body, as they appear to be getting used to his absence, although they are still quite quiet..

So sorry to hear this girl and i know a piece of u is with buster this brought tears to me but may i ask what it was that he was allergic to i am having problems with my little girl she is losing patches of hair and the vet has no idea why even though i had them run an allergy test so this really worries me. We all loved Buster and now it feels like part of the family we have lost.

We don't know what caused the allergy: It may have been the bone he had a chew at, but the others were unaffected. Or it could have been something in the soil, or an insect bite..we shall never know.

I understand, I won't be too sorry, as I respect your feelings and you've had wonderful and loving dogs, and you've loved them all. But he was family, and like with magnus with helle, and other dogs who've passed, all of us who've watched your gallery have accepted your dogs into our lives, our living rooms, and it's been a wonderful journey and a real blessing. I'm really sorry he didn't make it, but I know you have great memories. And Buster is celebrated here, in your gallery, forever...... A sweet image for remembrance. Much light to everyone in your home, I'm sure he'd want it that way.

OHH ! I am so sorry, Andrea. Even though it is your 15th dog it is stil hard to lose him. He was such a lovely and special dog in my opinion and even I will miss him and your little stories and your lovely photos with him on the beach. How good it is, that you have such wonderful memories of him :) He wont be forgotten :) HUGS from Denmark :)

Love and peace from Turkey, Andrea! No matter how used to such losses you think you are, it still hurts to lose family, I know. Lale from Ankara

He is a caring canine in dog heaven now. I will miss seeing this little champion in his water baby role. My experience back in 2009 of meeting your dogs was one of pure joy and admiration for what you and they do. He will be sorely missed my friend. With my faith in the lord, I know both you and your dogs are bless for what you all do to make the golden years of dear old people more comfortable and social. We know this, because god blessed ALL animals, and people defense is to say he also said dominate them. There is a fine line between loving a working pet and hunting them with weapons, or placing them in a zoo or circus. God bless buster for his hard work and loving being.

It seems that one of the most unfair things life gives us is that dogs don't live as long as we do. I've heard it said that the purpose of our lives is to learn to love perfectly, without reserve. Dogs just learn that much faster than we do.

I'm so terribly sorry to hear this news Andrea, deeply saddened, there is definitely a special place for him in doggy heaven... I feared the worse when I first saw the picture posted of him appearing rather lethargic, he seemed such an active vibrant dog. He has many great fans here and he will never be forgotten because he is immortalised in art... those wonderful pictures. You looked after him so well and being the kindest and most unselfish owner is when that decision is made it's made for the dog and not the owner, I'm sure is was an agonizing decision to make but if Buster could talk he would have thanked you. Very sad news today but we must enjoy the pleasure he gave to many people in the lovely photographs here and all the lives he lifted in nursing homes.. a special dog who will hold special memories forever. A great shot of the little fellow here... that's how we shall remember him not laying down in a lethargic way. My sympathies are with you Andrea.

Per your request (and as always) I won't feel too sad for you. However, I'm still feeling sad. Buster has been a part of my life ever since you got here six years ago. He's been your avatar, the subject of a lot of brilliant, touching, and fun photography, and a favorite at "the home." I'll truly miss him.

Andrea...so many words above reflect my feelings this morning. Buster has been a delight for me since I arrived on the site in August 2008. I will miss him...I feel I've come to know him well. Such is your art... Peace and quiet to you all today:)

i am very sorry to learn that he is gone. He was such a delight. As I sat here thinking about him and about your pack, I thought of connections. The connections they made with each other, with you, and with the residents they visit. He is a distinct part of a wonderful narrative and will always shine brightly. Who could look at this beautiful picture and doubt how happy he was. Happiness seems to radiate off him in waves and brings a smile to my face even on this sad day. Images and memories of him will continue to bring smiles. That is a wonderful gift for all of us whose lives he touched. Hugs and peace to you and to Rosie, Fritz, and Ralphie.

Along with the others, my deepest condolences on the passing of your brave and loving doggie, Buster, Andrea. I was hoping that he would make a miraculous recovery, but it was not to be. Losing a pet, so loyal and ingenuous, simply blows me away. That said, a splendid photograph of Buster on the Heath, a scene probably being replicated now up above in doggie heaven.

To read the sad news of Buster's final day, is kind of overwhelming for me and touches my senses immensely. I would find it hard to let go, no matter how many other dogs I have had, (or cats, in my case) that's just me, Andrea. ~ All your doxies are part of a wonderful loving and nurturing family, as you have shown us here over and over again ... such a trooper and such a good life he has had, there is no doubt about it - everybody will miss him here and at the nursing home - and with a fine image of Buster here, we say farewell to him ~ forever long live his avatar ;) BB

I'm so sorry for you Andrea but I understand your feelings. This is a very special capture to hold in our minds as our last look at Buster. I didn't know that Buster was a rescue dog. If all 18 are/were rescue dogs then you are a saint in my mind. Bless you!!!

A double shock. First the title and then the image a if he was coming home. He was my favorite and, I'm sorry, but I am close to tears. There is comfort in knowing you gave him the best life he could have had.
