Description
Over a span of two months, 12/2/12 to 1/29/13, I took a total of 205 photos of leaves of various varieties showing them lying on the ground, in the slow process of colorful decay. And that doesn't even include the 26 that I snapped during that period, casting long shadows on the sidewalk. A potpourri of these beauties above was captured 12/2/12, early morning, I believe at a local park.
A ZOOM is highly recommended.

You're probably shocked to see me in a current photo, but I figured I'd stun you one time, lol. But I wanted to say that your leaves series manage to get genuine variety from your many leaves shots; and your tenacity---ie, photographing them over and over---is wonderful. Finding the music in each pile, the "magic". A mystic once said, "I don't have to look to 'heaven' for miracles---they're right under my feet..." Full Size is a must with these. A theme here (visual) seems to be longer, thinner lobes (or leaf-tentacles---don't know the right term), rather than short squat ones. Some of them are marvelously rolled. You've captured them criss-crossing and dancing all over each other, a real dance. The stems are so bright, and they add another set of lines. Again, I go back to your abstract sense, how much of an abstract artist you can be, searching form, texture, visual music, etc. A lovely capture of colorful characters, with wonderful garments (their hues), all those freckles, and stems and grass...There was a respected artist who painted sticks for 5 years: When asked what she "saw" in them, she answered, "the universe". Thought you'd appreciate that. This, like the others in this series, is marvelous, fun, and dancing. Love it.

Oh dear, it's always a challenge to follow Mark, his comments are like mini-novels and make everyone else's words sounds flat. I'll try... again, a wonderful party of leaf fall, this time the maples, the show-offs of the leaf world. No two alike, no two patterns or colours the same as any other. It's amazing, when you think about it, given the sheer number of leaves on a tree, and the number of trees. A subtly wide range of yellow golds, from the light yellows to dark bronze; the autumn reds catch everyone's eyes, but the golds are every bit as lovely and necessary. Masterful shot, Harry, a beautiful slice of autumn's carpet!
