Just when the much of the garden is withdrawing in preparation for winter, Autumn-flowering Camelia sasanqua 'Gay Sue' covers herself in these wonderful frilly musk-scented flowers.
She is a reliable joy at this time of year,and by the time she is over the spring flowering camelias are starting.

Gorgeous! I love the soft color and the contrast against the dark background. What a nice thing to have an autumn bloomer that takes you through to the next season. I wouldn't have named it Sue ... I would have named it Hope.
