Description
Also this is Berlin. No tourist route. Built around 1900 as a tenement with up to 5 backyards. In the backyards trade were established. This backyard has survived the wars. You do not find many more .... a touch of nostalgia ..... a piece Old Berlin.

Oh yes, and I can recall, kids were calling their mothers from the courtyard: "Mutter, schmeiss mal 'ne Stulle runter" ... LOL I know Julchen, this may not sound funny nowadays anymore - but it brings a smile to my face ! Despite all the shortcomings of those days, they are still wonderful memories and your photo is witness to this phenomena called postwar times ... a brill pic, BB

Stark reality of a part of Berlin outsiders seldom see. An excellent capture. We used to have these in cities like New York. The ones that survive have been renovated and are now very expensive and chic. It seems the new Germany is not for everyone. Stark Realität in eines Teils Berlin von Außenstehende selten zu sehen. Eine hervorragende erfassen. Früher haben wir diese in Städten wie New York haben. Diejenigen, die überleben, wurden renoviert und sind jetzt sehr teuer und schick. Es scheint, das neue Deutschland ist nicht jedermanns Sache.

Super Perspektive! Altbauten haben immer einen gewissen Charme, auch wenn das Wohnen nicht immer so komfortabel ist. Ich wollte und möchte nie in einen Neubau (Plattenbau) wohnen.
