Such a cool render, dear Sandy, and I hope Tinky her beer is also cool.(despite the fire behind her). I love the yellow dress, and the beautiful beer jugs, as the mood is terrific for a happy look.

First, it's great to see your commissioned work. I hope you get lots more. Second, I'm one of the only people on planet earth, now, who doesn't know the Hobbits and Middle Earth and so on. Sounds like I live on Mars, I know, but I never read or saw any of this praised and beloved storyline, loving lore, and the like. So I have to look at this just as an artwork, and kind of "feel" the story behind it. (Sorry 'bout that!) But I really like the image, even if I don't know who it portrays. I like how she stands out from all the dark light around her, how the black on top makes her stand out all the more, how the flame behind her harmonizes with her clothes, how she's bent backwards in happiness, as she drinks (I'm not much of a drinker, and if I drank that whole glass? I wouldn't be bending backwards, I'd be on the floor, way out of the painting...) (I love certain wines, liqueurs, cognac, even a good scotch when my stomach is coated in lead, but I don't tolerate it very well), the sweet balance of the glass and the carafe (ok, is that a carafe? see how little I know? I mean the thing you pour the beer from), even your framing which seems painted on---I love how free and loose it is. Like so many of your pieces here, it has light and spirit and intimacy. And even without knowing a thing about the character, I love the feel of the piece. And I see I'm not alone, from the comments above. Very sweet and bold image, and with lots of spirit, and really nice light coming out of the dark. Thanks for coming to my gallery, it's appreciated more than you know, Sandy. And I hope you're doing well, and that life is blessing you and your loved ones with plenitude of love---you deserve it. I wish you blessed and love-filled holidays, and a very love-filled 2014. (Now I'm gonna go and try to figure out who this lady is. TOTALLY embarrassing...)

It's perfectly alright that you don't know her. Tinki is actually not in any of the stories. She is a guild mate in Lord of the Rings Online ( A popular video game) and very much beloved by most of the community there. She always brings ale and pipe-weed to share with everyone to all of the parties and concerts. This has become a popular tradition and now she even has assistants who also sport the yellow coats and black hats. Very easy to spot them in the crowd despite their diminutive size..
