Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!Â
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper! Â
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

Beautiful shot, Andrea :)

The designs get more and more wild... modern perfume bottles can often be works of art, some amazing designs out there. both shots great.

Love the bottles but the descriptions are wonderful and funny

Elegant, simply elegant, Andrea. You must be irresistable wearing that perfume.
jocko500

A lovely container and it shows up well in both versions!

Desire, huh? I do love what you've done with the bottle. I am not surprised that anything Lopez does is damned with faint praise. After all, she is "Jenny From the Block". I do like the bottles though.

Both photos are superb! I like the "superbly trashy perfume for eighteen year old girls on the prowl' comment. And yet it works well for gramdmas too! You really should consider doing a book with your perfume bottle photos.

As a fiber-arts type, I wonder who's making all those little crocheted bags? :P The bottle is grand ... I love the shape and all the facets. You go, Grandma! :)

A diamond in the raw, love the shape and I like it, that she dares to be different ... it's not an Alexander MacQueen shape but it looks and sounds so tempting, because I also love the smell of freesias very much, can't wait to get a whiff of them - sooner or later ;))

In Full View, I see you did some postwork to give it some grain: A very interesting effect. It's a fascinating composition, a threesome from large bottle (left), to box (off-center), to small bottle (right). And the knitted bag (top) takes the line from the top to the smaller bottle (as does the insert behind the box---I assume that's an insert or a tag or some product info, back there). A way one unifies several diverse elements...I also like how you cut off most of the name, and left the "e o" to speak alone. It all moves in the direction of the bottle's tilt, too. Another piece of fine design sense from your perfume series. Explorations of a theme. And the back colors work well with the greenish tint of the liquid, as the table hues work with the band and signature on the box. I'm glad you're independent enough to use and like whatever you like, not caring if it's aimed at this market or that, or agreeing with every critique that comes along. Do you save all the bottles, when finished? For art purposes? Or do you eventually discard them all? Whatever you do, it's great that you give them their day in the museum, at some point. Most interesting composition and visual connections between the elements inside it.
