My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

I wonder what happened to the owner

A very cool and interesting but sad capture great dedication to Cory

You've captured the essence of the place. At one time a developer's dream (1950s), but today an ecological disaster still in the brewing. And all over water rights and sale of water to the highest bidders. Happy Birthday to Corey...his gallery has some of the same vibes...but in parts of that big, urban center called Chicago. The parts that most tourists never see. Well done:)

Amazing capture Tara. God bless.

this is a perfect gift for Corey--have a great day, my friend!!

I agree with Bill on this one. The same story all over the Southwest. In Arizona there is an adjudication of water rights going on since the early 1980s and no end in sight. But listening to developers making their pitch of how to provide an assured water supply for their proposed developments, and salesmen selling houses to potential costumers thinking of moving to Arizona, the last thing they seem to mention is water, and they always sound positive. But on the other side of the coin, being a water lawyer is definitely a secure job, so much so, that they can raise their kids and encourage them to follow in their fathers footstep. I have to say it also prided 25 years of an interesting job for me.

Splendid shot Tara . I think to the first morning of the world! Have a nice day!

At one time a very expensive boat, excellent.

Excellent capture of a somewhat dystopian scene. I always wonder how people can just walk away from everything. I agree with Bill's comments. Some folks have been predicting for some time that the next big resource battle would be over water.

A perfectly placed orange coloured box, too! What happened to Corey and Chip, I wonder, I hope he sees this!
Katraz
A very desolate looking place.
SunriseGirl
I like this one. It shows the feeling of abandonment in a more expensive-looking way.

Loooks HOT !!

What a waste of a good floating vessel! I guess it's going nowhere fast now...wonderful find and capture, and a perfect dedi for Corey!
Sea_Dog
Well done. Nice dedi for Corey - haven't seen much of him OR chip lately.

This is most beautiful Hun and a perfect birthday upload for Corey. I'm so busy - just connected with him on Facebook!

WOnderful scenery for Corey. Happy Birthday Corey :)

Sad when a lake dries up. Nice capture.

I think the boat is past its time now. A skeleton draped over the back would fit right in! I wondered about that little box in the foreground, perhaps you're just teasing us? I miss Corey and Chip's contributions, hope they return!
moochagoo
Lovely "speedboat". Ah, ah !

You make even desolation look beautiful, Tara. This really is a colorful and well composed shot, my friend! I'd love to get my Phantom in the air here...
