My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

Nice cacti.

Nice combination of these two!
durleybeachbum
Gosh! The size of that cactus is unnerving! It looks strange to my eyes accustomed to containing my little collection of similar shapes on a small bench.

I guess Saguaro are the Sequoias of the cactus kingdom. Impressive specimen. Wonderful composition, nicely framed against that clear blue sky.
goodoleboy
Remarkable contrast and textures in this desert foto, with no annoying halo effects between the dark cacti and the blue sky to corrupt the image.

Wonderful shot! I love the saguaros. My parents lived at Lake Havasu for many years, and on the long drive from the main road to their home there was a lot of palo verde growing (of course, it's a desert, DOH!) and people would decorate them for Christmas. It always made that 15-mile stretch fun.

Great shot of two tough old plants, I always think this type of land should be called Arid lands as there always seems to be so much growing and living there.
