Description

Fiction: This P-38 Lightning pilot buzzed me today while I was walking across the parade ground at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas. Truth: This P-38 Lightning is mounted on three big black poles on one corner of the parade ground. I took the liberty of removing the poles and slightly blurring the props. I took this the day before Christmas:) Link for the one on the poles: Click Here

My favorite WWII fighter/interceptor/reconaissance aircraft shown zipping by low over the base. That said, you had me fooled on this one. Really a cool job, Bill, but I shouldn't complain because I remove things every so often to give the impression of something far different than the original image. And blurring props is not the easiest thing to do. Just ask debbielove.

You did a fantastic job with the poles, and the prop blur is VERY well done! The result is outstanding. If I didn't know better, I'd think someone had gone astray over the base! LOL!

Fiction is sometimes better ;) but I think I would have lost my wig or lunch (or both) - flying so close over my head ;P Happy Holidays and New Year ~2014~ to you Bill & Tara ... BB

The most frightening thing is that it doesn't even have a pilot!

I'll have to admit you had me going for a minute, Bill! You did a masterful job of removing those poles, my friend! That Lightning looks like she's haulin' across the field!

Excellent job, Bill. The prop blurs are fantastic (as if this hasn't been stated above already)! Great job with fixing the background where the 3 pillars ahve been. That must have been a tough one to get right! Wishing you and Tara a Happy New Year and a great 2014! :-)

The instant I saw it I thought you lucky guy seeing a P-38 so close, and the prop blur is perfect so I suspected nothing even though I have done the exact thing myself. AND, I can guarantee after the fall of 2014 you will be doing one more of these. LOL!

Well, this puts ALL my shots to shame.. An outstanding shot on its own.. Of course the fact our Health and safety has got its claws into things does not help (must fly Ex number feet high and Ex number of feet away from people!) It sucks! BUT, your shot is stunning, well caught Bill.. Wonderful Have a great Christmas. Rob
