UPDATED: September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Oh boy, nothing can be more appropriate for my birthday dedication than military equipment, especially from the big one, WWII. It gets my blood churning. Ironically, I was stationed at Ft Bliss, outside of El Paso, in the antiaircraft artillery unit, shortly after returning from overseas in the PI. But I digress. Neat set of variations performed on this cool halftrack, with that winch-looking device up front. Thank you so much for the fine thought and dedication, Bill, as I get one year older.

You made me remember how much I enjoyed being in El Paso. Always when I see the name I am thinking, "Out in the west Texas town of El Paso, I fell in love with a Mexican girl. Nighttime would find me in Rosa's Cantina..." I need to find that Mexican girl soon!

Beautiful photo and post work, Bill. My first armored vehicle model was a Monogram 1:35 scale mosel of this with the quad .50 AA gun. The doors could open. My, what fun I had with that model! Today I have a host of these by Airfix and a few by Hasegawa. Even in 1:76 scale they were lots of fun to asseble, and small enough to make a parade or disperse units on a battle field. I still have an old, unassembled Airfix model as a keep sake. And, they did great service during the Battle of the Bulge (ever check how many times they show up in photos from that battle?). If you have more photos of this fellow, please post! :-)

Really nice dedi for Harry---I saw it when it went up, but I'm finally commenting now. First, because it's of an amazing looking vehicle from WWII, and second because of your treatments, which are an homage to Harry's many treatments in his gallery. It's a terrifying-looking truck, defended by all that metal, and looking quite fierce for its size. I often wonder what soldiers hundreds of years ago would've thought if they laid their eyes on one of these: They may seem old, by today's weapons' standards, but they would've seemed like a godsend to soldiers in the Middle Ages. (In the Battle of Agincourt, the big innovation was long bows. Imagine what the Brits would've thought had they had one of these.) Your variations are in true harry style, Bill, and I'm always happy when people honor a veteran---like yourself. A very fine upload for Harry. (In his comment, he wrote, "after returning from overseas in the PI." That's such an easy phrase, but I can't imagine what it was like for him and others to return from there. That part of WWII seemed overwhelming, it seemed some of the most overwhelming battle in the history of battle. I just can't imagine what it was like to fight the Japanese Military in those agonizing years. It has to change one for life. And we should honor such people, yes...)
