Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!Â
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper! Â
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

Life looks like it's abundant & flourishing on this tree - well seen & captured & I don't see any problems with the sharpness...

In my general neck of the woods, we usually don't have trees in our parking lots, they are all flat, plain and Spartan, one exception being teenage palms in the huge Cerritos Shopping Mall parking lot. That said, I really like the textures, not only of the dominant lichen in your pic, but others up and down the length of the tree trunk. And the foto looks nice and sharp to me.

That's a colorful sweater the tree is wearing. It is too dry for lichens here so I have become quite a fan of the little guys you share with us.

Excellent find and capture... not sharp?... I reckon that is pretty sharp to me and given the conditions not ideal for photography I think it's up to the kind of high standards you set. Well done.

Gorgeous capture Andrea and I 'think' that I can find at least four different varieties !

Superb capture Andrea. God bless.

although sad -yes! n says something about the tree's 'health'-, sounds better than the majority of parking lots here! (and 'they' are removing lots of green to reduce costs. Middelburg announched they would remove all roses, unless people from the neighbourhood were willing to do the maintenance. 'crisis'?? tsss) wonderful shot!! love the POV & DOF!! n the light!
