This is fantastic photographic abstract, you do this so well, I would be interested to see even more of these works, both shots are very interesting and would be prime subject for post work too.

I would agree! Very interesting texture on this gourd, Andrea! I have a collection of them myself, but never quite seen one like this! Excellent close-up and lighting, my Friend!

This works on so many levels, is it a macro, a landscape, an aerial shot of a desert scrubland or a stunning abstract!

Gourds? Please. It's the surface of the moon, I tell ya! And, what a penumbra and umbra on this beauty. The textures and lighting effects are simply splendid. You must have had access to a giant telescope for this winner, Andrea.

the flickr version is very intense, a closeup study of colonies and growth. This is softer by comparison, and feels like an aerial view of a Southwest US landscape, with its yellows and oranges and all those speckles of trees and cacti and rock formations. Amazing it's a gourd. Part of your plant closeups, along with your closeups of lichens, molds and similar, which reveal whole landscapes and topographies. And your crop---or pov---gives a darker left-bottom-corner as contrasted with the sunnier right-upper-corner. A balance of the two worlds. It's wonderful.
