Description
The rough stone corridor, built with imperfections and showing signs of wear
have gradually changed to walls as smooth as ice, glistening in the pail light.
The corridor is filled with a variety of colored lights that blink and flash for
no apparent reason.
"What am I looking at? I have never seen anything like this before."
Kortt brushes by me moving into the strange new environment.
"I doubt their is anyone alive who has. This explains why I can't feel magic,
this is what I was telling you about earlier...this is technology."
I watch as Kortt moves further into the hall, lights come alive and seem to
respond to his movement which is fascinating in itself but was nothing compared
to what came next.
"Greetings, welcome to Crete enterprises. How may I assist you?"
The minions and I instantly begin scanning the hall, trying to determine the
location of the mystery woman's voice. Kortt remains calm, did this
woman cast some kind of paralyzation spell on him?
"Kortt! Are you ok? What should we do? Is she invisible?"
He smiles.
"Take it easy, everything is fine. There is no woman, the voice you hear is
an artificial intelligence system."
The voice speaks again.
"That is correct, I am here to assist you with whatever you need."
"I don't get it? What do you mean artificial intelligence?" I ask
"It's not that easy to explain, just trust me when I say it is no danger to
us." Then he asks the artificial intelligence...
"We are looking for a very old and powerful magic book, can you help us?"
The woman's voice then replies...
"Magical items are class A inquires requiring level ten access approval,
please provide level verification."
"Damn. Thought that seemed a little to easy." He chuckles. "Guess we will
have to find it the old fashion way. Thank you but your assistance will not be
necessary."
"As you wish." The voice replies.
Kortt then waves me over.
"Come on, let's keep going."
We begin moving again while I still try to take everything in, the perfection
and shimmer of everything is disturbing. The best dwarves in the world couldn't
forge walls this smooth, my mind just can't seem to comprehend what my eyes are
seeing. Kortt on the other hand seems to be comfortable here.
"Have you encountered this...technology before? I ask.
"No, but long ago their were stories of a time when castles made of glass
reached the clouds and chariots flew through the sky as easily as a bird.
Unfortunately not only did technology improve everyday life it also brought with
it weapons of mass destruction. Weapons that were wielded with but a finger and
could kill every living thing on a entire continent destroying any chance of
life for countless generations to come. Those weapons changed the course of life
on this planet and erased nearly all evidence of the time and those which came
before it. This tomb somehow survived, when all other remnants of that time
disappeared this one somehow survived. The fact that it was built inside this
tomb on the Path of Unspeakable Evil was no mere coincidence. This path once
lived up to its name, now it is merely a shadow of the horrors it once
protected."
The story is fascinating, how I would love to have seen a castle made of glass. Kortt continues.
"Tate, you wanted answers so here it is. I am over 19,000 years old, so yes I was alive during the era of technology but I was trapped in Limbo and time works very differently there. You see though 19,000 years passed here...while in the Limbo, only 300 had passed for me. This is why I have such a
strong connection to demon magic and why I was able to sense your dealing with Kasza'Zuel. I was raised in Limbo and trapped there, I spent 300 years fighting every moment of every day for my right to survive. When I finally found escape I discovered nearly 18,700 years had passed since my birth in this realm.
The first thing I find is another war, the Great War as you call it. The rest of the story you already know."
Its hard to contain my excitement, Kortt really is who he says.
"You really are The Broken Arrow!"

Cool !!!

Sorry, I realize that gallery hopping makes this very frustrating and confusing. For those of you that are unaware if I reach 4096 characters I then have exceeded the poser galleries limitations and must post in the writers gallery. The problem there is the writers gallery limits me to images of 800x800. VERY frustrating! So hopefully you will all find your way over here to continue on with the story.

Simply Superb,
Wolfenshire Online Now!
After a while you'll realize that any image at all becomes frustrating. You spend tons of time writing a story and making it as good as you can; the story is the art, but then everyone comes along and says.... "wow, great image". I find that very frustrating. Especially when it's in writers gallery and should be obvious that the story is the focus. The image isn't the art!! I have to bite my tongue on that all the time. Anyway, very cool story and I'm glad you posted it in writers gallery.

The story is the most important part but the scene also help it come alive even more, does not matter how large the image is! Keep them coming!
