Description

We search the technology halls for many hours, with Kortt open to communication my sense of hope is once again restored. I'm here on a quest with the Broken Arrow, the legend himself, trying to save a young human girl I befriended named Hayden. "One more question." I ask. "Ok." He replies. "Even though you appear dark elf, how have you survived 19,000 years? Even elves don't have that kind of life span." Kortt turns to look at me. "That is even a mystery to me, I believe I am cursed. On my chest I have a glyph that moves, and rotates ever so slightly, it is my belief that is in fact a curse. It has been there since I can remember. I am immortal Tate, my body heals nearly instantly from any wound and never get sick." Wow, that explains a lot. "How is that a curse?" I ask Kortt's expression suddenly changes, Sadness forms on his face. "Having to watch as countless generations of those you care about grow old and eventually die while I remain young and healthy takes its toll on the mind, that is why it's a curse." "I'm sorry." I say. "I never considered that." We move on in silence for awhile. I can't stop thinking about the horrific life he has led, he is a legend but the truth is that if people really knew the truth on what he has faced, that he earned his reputation every step of the way a thousand times over...he would be perceived as a god. I see Kortt look to the ceiling. "I have a question?" He asks. The woman's voice returns. "I am happy to assist you." "Where is the mass of power running this structure being directed?" Asks Kortt. The woman responds. "The majority of this facilities power is directed to the cryobay." Kortt looks as confused as I feel. "What's a kryo bay? I ask "I'm not sure." Says Kortt. "Can you guide us there?" The voice replies. "Of course." As the artificial intelligence begins guiding us through the maze of smooth corridors, it takes next to know time before the voice says... "You are now at the entrance of the cryobay." Everything still looks the same to me, though their does seem to be a heavy door ahead. Titan and Bit notice it as well because they rush up to it climbing on top of one another trying to peek through a view port located beside it. Just before I can move ahead Kortt stops me. "Be ready, I have no idea what to expect from this place." I nodd and move up to the door, just as I reach out my hand to touch it the door breaks apart in the middle. The upper half disappears into the ceiling while the lower half disappears into the floor. I can't help but think... "That was easy."

Well done, excellent creativity. I wish I had his curse. I'd be okay with a 19k life span.
