Description

We toured the USS Stewart and the USS Cavalla yesterday at Seawolf Park on Pelican Island in Galveston Harbor. The Stewart is a US Navy Destroyer Escort. (That should be plenty of information for Those Of You Who Need To Know to look it up. Heaven knows I'LL not be the one to provide meaningful statistics about the thing!!) I was going to make a quick in-and-out trip, but got lost in the details. Everything on the ship seemed to be a photo op. Such a fun day! While we were there, a family with two young boys was wandering around. Just as I was about to take a picture of the receding doorways down a long hallway, they came around the corner and got in the shot. Mom and Dad said, "Sorry, sorry, and backed themselves and the older boy out of the way," but the younger one was an irrepressible showoff (SUCH a delight!), and struck a couple of poses. Pardon the poor picture quality. I wasn't set up to take a picture of a person in this dark hallway, I was set up to take a picture of the light and shadows and shapes, and had to do quite a bit of "rescue" work on the shot. The kid was so much fun, though, that I couldn't resist. :)

Well done! The unexpected is sometimes the best...and I agree, the "high voltage" warning is most appropriate!

Did he get the job...? Love the composition (surprise, surprise) and the tonal quality. Excellent shot.
