Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!Â
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper! Â
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

Hmm, I think I see a master manipulator in this shot. You only think he does not get away with manipulating you!!! LOL
Adobe_One_Kenobi
Excellent, I remember him coming to our room despite your instructions to the contrary. Oh well that was near 5 years ago, so he may have learned to listen to you now :)
verbumdomini
don't be fooled by the shear cuteness of these furry little creatures, they know that we are susceptible to exploitation, manipulation and other things nice photo really cute :)
Mark-David-Rogers
He is a real cute fellow, and you have captured him so well here in the studio, reminds me that Fritz is a breed of dog loved by many artists including David Hockney... I remember he did a wonderful series of paintings of his dogs.. think a book was released a few years back now.

Excellent photo.

Fritz is just so adorable! You look into that little face and just melt...
jayfar
He has that dogged look of wisdom.

A superb model. A wonderful shot!

Yes those wet eyes can manipulate almost anybody :-D Wonderful shot indeed.

Amazing capture Andrea. God bless.

His eyes make you melt :0)

Most cool portrait of your low slung pooch obediently posing for this pic. From what you imply, Fritz lives by his wits, probably because of competition from his peers in your canine corps.

Very adorable photo! I can see how someone could be temped, just a little bit mind you, to succumb to his wiles and beguiling look
three_grrr
You're one strong Lady, Andrea, to not succumb to Fritz's wiles. Leya has her weak-willed people well trained, Fritz is such a charmer, and looks like he is well able to keep the troops in line, in a loving and kind manner. A marvelous portrait.

This would make a perfect centerfold for PlayDog magazine. He really is a handsome fellow and I suspect he knows it.
beachzz
What a handsome guy; he looks a lot like my sister's dog!!

LOL @ Mark! PlayDog, indeed. I had a similar thought, but he expresses it so much better than my unformed, vague impression. Lovely!
moochagoo
So cute little pet :)

A splendid shot of Fritz (the "PlayDog," lol). Really beautifully done. Love the pov, the way he "opens up" into our foreground. And more of your contrasted background postwork, with those flattened hues and 'colonies' of color, etc. And with lots of bright white to raise Fritz's presence even more. A beautiful loving portrait.---even if he is a fine manipulator. Do the other dogs say to him, "oh, you're GOOD, dude. You're freakin' GOOOOOOOD!" (An American expression for, "you have those manipulations down pat!") A wonderful shot.

Yes, he won me over immediately; I imagine he was very pleased to be the center of your attention in the studio!

He has that 'Je ne sais quoi' - and why I'm not surprised that he is taking his chances with us humans ? love is all around ... animals can do that to us, I could also be easily sucked in by the look of this face ;)) BB
danapommet
I do like that look - Fritz could get anything out of me with that look!
