Description
And now for something completely different :)...
This image exists in color too, but I found that the BW version unexpectedly told a more interesting story, so I added some more old photo post effects (PS Actions by Jana Werner aka JennyW).
This means that the image had much more postwork done than I usually do, but the core render had pretty much the usual amount: passes manipulation, some painted hair strands, plus I added an additional leaf shadow layer because the shadows from the spot which had the same leaf shadow image as a Gel were not intense enough for the effect I wanted.
What do you think? I'd really appreciate some critique for this, as it's a very experimental image and I am trying things out.
What works and what doesn't?

Very nice! There's an otherworldly quality to this render that really works well. I can't think of anything to improve it.

I love it. I think your use of b/w or sepia draws your eyes to this beautiful creature, I think the color would, in my eyes, distract, but I also love b/w films and photos..

A wonderful character, beautifully presented!

what works -- amazingly real. What didn't work for me - ear/wing things don't seem enough to support the head and I think I was late seeing that intent (if I see this correctly) - so the head not being grounded/connected bugs me. Very moody and very beautiful work!!
