Description
Captured 8/23/12, at the gate of a long enclosure adjacent to a local park.
If you look closely, you will see six padlocks in all, one of the reasons I did this as a mini collage. I don't know what was so valuable inside the enclosure for it to warrant six locks. The whole area was completely barren inside, and still is at this late date.

Great work on capturing this cool collection, Harry.

Must be for different companies to access it for some reason? Who knows...anyway, it's a great find for you and an excellent chance for you to show off your lock and chain documenting skills, Harry. At least these are serving the purpose of locking something! Great textures in the ground below and on the rusty chains and post welds. Well done!

Excellent pic, and Denise is right. Multiple padlocks instead of multiple duplicate keys.

Almost seems like they are using the locks to connect several chain links together. Interesting shot. Aloha

It blooms in zoom. Wonderful detail on the chain and locks, and in the background ground. As well as in all that rust on the poles. Also, the angles make big convergences and sweeping lines, and bring out the cacophony and dance of these strange (but common) beasts. The chain almost looks "pulled" in your pov's, stretched almost. And the bottom pic---lighter than the top---while it tones down the locks and chains, etc, it brightens the ground which comes forth in splendid grainy presence. More fine work in this long collection of padlocks. And why someone would have this many locks for a property that no one uses I have no idea: But after viewing padlocks in your gallery, I wonder if they don't just "grow" there, like weeds, or like some kind of heavy-duty lichen, mold, whatever; they show up in colonies wherever the materials are fertile and the visual milieu is ripe. After viewing your gallery, I'm convinced these beasts have lives of their own...More fine padlock work, Harry.
