My computer adventures grow curiouser and curiouser. I was right in the middle of writing a comment in appraisal of your photo above when my new computer quit and the monitor went black. It took some doing to get it back to normal, but here I am again, typing in the hopes of not experiencing the same event again before I hit the Post Comment button. Another one of your remarkably generated black and white people shots, developed employing your own private method of filter manipulation. Anyway, the scene above is typical of the heavily Hispanic population here in my area, large families having a lot of fun, enjoying the outdoors and consuming their cold goodies. As Denise would say, Well done you!

First of all Mark, allow me to say how sorry I am to learn you will not be posting much for a while. I totally understand you're situation, but undoubtedly you know that you will be greatly missed. This wonderful capture of a family outing is one of the most uplifting pics I've seen in some time. As always it's fun to watch everyone enjoying their ice cream bars, and upon closer study something else caught my eye. That is the love and togetherness that gives this image such a warm feel. I noticed how the two younger kids are hovering close to Mom, the little girl making sure to stay just a step ahead of her. The loving Mother is apparently used to this, as she doesn't have to look down to keep a safe distance between them. Also I very much enjoyed the oldest of the siblings hanging close to her Father. (Daddy's girl I suspect) She obviously has chosen to be on this side of him away from her siblings so she can have Daddy all to herself. If you look closely you can see in several ways she mimics her Father, in both movement and where her attention is focused.

A very fun shot. All seem to be enjoying their ice cream, but where is Mama's? Interesting how something like an ice cream bar can put you in a different state, as this photo shows.
