I would know this for Chicago anywhere. It's those iron-fenced gardens in the sidewalks. Fabulous! I love the way you've used a unique element of your city's design and highlighted its geometry.

Oh, super great at ZOOM level in this high contrast and perspective capture, Mark. You've created black and white stark again! Andrea sure revels at the sight of it. Your Chicago environment of beautifully adorned home fronts and sidewalks put my local equivalent to shame with its Spartan development.

Interesting how there seems to be more "colour" and light in your monotone in zoom; this site has much to answer for quality-wise, I think. At any rate, this is absolutely lovely. There is some ethereal quality to the light in your street shots, as though heaven is really paying attention to those streets, or as if those streets are THE streets, the ones in all the books and stories. Hard to explain what I mean, but they do have a real presence I haven't seen in many cities but does seem very apparent in your neighborhood. Beautiful!!!!! And I immediately fixed on those leaves on the sidewalk and their haloes, I love when that happens!

Mark, this is a very lovely capture and one can certainly see why you chose to share it with us today. Despite being in a large city, this street has a very quiet and peaceful appearance. The lovely pathway is perfectly decorated with fencing, trees, and literally seems to go on forever. This reminds me a great deal of an area I used to walk daily back when I spent a great deal of time in San Miguel De Allende.

I like the length of that walkway and how you are taking us on the walk with you. Great photo.

A true masterpiece of a capture, Mark. I enoy the symmetry and parallel lines you caught. Fantastic perspective. Love the distant vanishing point in the horizon. That is a long road for sure.

Now, that's the kind of path that makes my feet itch---to get on my bike and just RIDE for miles and miles. Course the people walking might not appreciate my manic mileage, but I'd ring my bell and let them know I was right behind them. Anyway, love this shot; it just goes on and on and on!!

Love the extreme depth (that sidewalk seems to be receding into infinity), the subtle pink hues you used & the way you tilted the camera down to capture a low angle perspective...
