Description
The four toms (one's head is hidden, though you can see his feathers) in the rafter of turkeys that have been visiting us daily. They were strutting around, displaying their feathers & making a lot of noise as they eyed me warily.
To answer UVDan's question from my previous post, no we don't leave food out for them, though we do have a couple of bird feeders & the seeds do get scattered around somewhat. But I think they're probably foraging for bugs, worms, acorns & such...
Probably my last turkey shot for a while. Please zoom for better detail.

Terrific capper to your 3-part mini-series, with the turkeys flaring their tails for you as a "finishing number". I don't know how you get shots like these, as they're perfectly timed and coordinated; and the one non-flared birds makes perfect counterpoint for the other three. (Kind of a visual "anchor" for the group.) Eye popping. And your work with that big tree, and all that rich yellow behind it (not to mention the reddish leaves in front), create a powerful backdrop to the showoff-birds. I know that, often, flared feathers are displays of power and dominance; kind of the avian version of "what you lookin' at!" or "check me out!" But the appearance is always exquisite and artistic. A terrific series with, as they say in musical theater, "a big finish". Wonderful work, Claude. Love all three.

Mark, you didn't get to see the other two dozen shots I took that weren't so "perfectly timed and coordinated"! I just kept shooting until I got something I was satisfied with...
