Description

I really haven't given enough love to my second Waterfowl set (Diving and Sea Ducks) in renders, so here's a couple ducks from that set...the Panda-like Smew and the Harlequin duck (in the background). While both birds are found in Eurasia-- the chance meeting I've depicted would be rare... The Smew breeds in the northern taiga of Europe and Asia. As a migrant, it leaves its breeding areas and winters on sheltered coasts or inland lakes of the Baltic Sea, the Black Sea, northern Germany and the Low Countries, with a small number reaching Great Britain. Vagrants have been recorded in North America. The Harlequin Duck is found in north-western and north-eastern North America, eastern Russia, the Aleutian Islands, southern Greenland and Iceland. It can winter further south, being found off Korea, northern California and North Carolina (United States). They are short distance migrants and most winter near rocky shorelines on the Atlantic and Pacific coasts. Rendered in Poser 2014 without postwork. Models: Swamp set (Nerd3D), Cattails and Smew and Harlequin Ducks (Ken Gilliland)

2 very cool looking ducks, Ken. I'm trying to find a water plain very much like what you have here. Could I ask where you got it from or how you made it? I really like the small waves and ripples created here.

I love these ducks! That fact that I would NOT have to do any post work on feathers is so exciting! Can't wait to get my hands on your sets of ducks and swans too, Ken! :)
