Description

This is the huge montana variety which had climbed up into the Western Red Cedar I had felled last year. I thought I might have lost it but it has returned with new vigour. In The April garden montage I posted on 1st May it is the second frame from the left top, covering the holly tree. To make a quick peep easy the link is Here

I had this in my garden at Rotherhithe when I was wed. I used to hard prune it with scissors, never hurt it at all, I had originally grown it from a cutting taken on a dumpsite.

Beautiful flower.. clematis is stronger than some people give it credit, it can return even when cut down to ground level, it will shoot up again and start up once more. Great shots.

After long term extensive coverage seeking out various flora, I can say with certainty that there is none of that species in my area.
