Description

Captured 5/3/14, early AM, about a third of a mile from home. Actually, I found this beauty in the dark gutter, picked it up - yuck - and placed it on the sunny sidewalk. I proceeded then to rotate the shoe and circle around it snapping pics, mainly for the various POV shadow effects. Just gotta have fun sometime. Pozegnanie.

What perfect clarity and lighting you got on these shots, Harry! And I like that the shoe colour is the same tone as the sidewalk itself. Well done you! And I always wonder how someone can lose one shoe, don't they know they've lost it? This one looks quite well-worn, and I'd bet it had its own strong stench when you approached it!

There was a story about a person who worked with animals so long, he started to grow fur. Well, if you continue working with old shoes and other detritus, you may grow laces and beat-up soles...Kudos for handling the thing---you've got guts, sir! You gave us a threesome, top with the shadow going down-right, bottom with shadow going up-left, and middle with no shadow on the side, but one going off the back. Nice sequence! A real mess of a shoe, and it looks like it's spilling out the sides. And, as one of your morning sidewalk-studies, you got the laces as shadow-source, and the strange textures etc. Another fine early morning sidewalk-study from you, and another of a beat up rejected creature brought to life by your eye. Love this shoe series. Next time bring gloves, though...
