I like that Denise has been using the words "reportage" and "reporting" for your shots, because shots like these are a species of journalism as well as art. A real flattened splat of a shot, like a tree's version of a fried egg (well, apologies to both, but I couldn't help but see that for a moment). Amazingly, it must've been cut long enough ago that it has smoothed out---it doesn't look sharp at all. But it sure looks primal and oozed. Or like a gigantic fungus. I also see two people, but I also see two dogs too. And you got all kinds of brush and other detritus around it---and a nice chunk of wall there too. A real head-on fill the frame shot of a big stump, beautiful in its own way, and caught to envelop us in its sprawl. Fine reportage, yes, and like a tree trunk stump 'god'---you wouldn't wanna mess with this dude.
