Captured 5/12/14, early AM, somewhere around the neighborhood.
Eventually a battle between the roots and the pavement on tap here.

I would say it seems to be outgrowing its allotted bed space; bet nature wins, or else they'll cut that one down too. Excellent photograph, Harry, I like the shape of those roots.

This looks like its going for a walk! Will of course lose, if it moves the pavement, they will chop the tree down instead of moving the pavement.. Wrong and sad.. Nice shot rob

I agree with Rob, it will cut into the sidewalk (as you suggest), and they'll probably cut down the tree. Though why not just cut out the root? I don't know if that would ruin the tree, but it's better than cutting down the whole thing. Anyway, another fine piece of reportage, with the root dominating the shot, and clarity in both it and the grasses. And your pov lets the lower portions of the roots' limbs reach down towards us. Nice aesthetic choice. If you look from the tree bottom to the end of the big roots, you can see a circle of sorts: with a semi cross inside---as if someone had designed it to look like a totem, or native symbol. You got the expressive whole of the thing, fine seeing; and very well framed by your crop.
