Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

Great capture, love the detail here. Fruit can make great art subject, I always liked the fruit paintings by Frida Kahlo.

The only fruit that contains it's own portion of Beluga caviar :)

This is really weird ? I have no idea what happened here ??? - I had already commented on this image and a few others! did Rendo delete them ? - I give up guessing! - so, here we go again ... ;) *** I have a Pawpaw (Papaya) & a Lime Tree growing in my garden and just love to eat it, first thing in the morning for breakfast and always eaten with Lime Juice squeezed all over it - YUM ! - it's also very nice with Ice Cream for dessert, sorry, you don't like it very much - but here in the Sub-tropics it's pretty much standard fruit, when in season ;)) a very nice & cool looking image, BB

The list of things in your gallery that others might find gross or disgusting is too long to enumerate, but papaya seeds bother you? Well, will wonders never cease. LOL! I must say, though, that those seeds DO look a bit more gelatinous than I'd like to see staring at me from my food. Nevertheless ... scoop 'em out, and they're gone! Presto! :)

My first thought was eggs as well. I'd like to tell you what the area around them looks like but I can't put my finger on it. No, seriously, she won't let me.

Lol, it does look like eggs of some kind. Esp in zoom. Your capture makes them look, yes, like they could start slithering away. But the whole papaya experience is kind of slithery anyway! I mean, you bite into it, and it kind of slithers to its heart's content. (Well so does mango, but it has a much different taste.) A big in your face mess of sensual seeds and liquid and fruit. But when you think of it, fruit is a pretty primal thing anyway, so if you're gonna fruit it up, why not do it to perfection...A really slimy sensual big slithery shot, and I for one love it. (An old vaudeville joke: A guy goes to a doctor and says, "are papayas healthy?" And the doctor says, "I never heard one complain...")

I have had papaya juice but I do not think that I have eaten the fruit. I like this glistening photo and love mangos.
