Description
I love this shot, captured 4/27/14, at the beautiful Renaissance Faire, held at the beautiful Santa Fe Dam Recreation Area, in semi beautiful Irwindale, California.
With that expression, the buxom young woman appears most content and pleased, and evidently has more than enough to offer her swain to keep him well satisfied and in a state of eternal bliss. But what's with the knife? I saw several other lassies sporting knives like that when at the Faire. I hope it was mostly for carving up food such as cheese, fruit and venison.
Don't forget to ZOOM.

What a beautiful and colourful capture, Harry; she does seem to exemplify the term "buxom wench". She also seems quite pleased with her swain, who is every bit as colourful as she is, but with nowhere near the style sense! Superb capture!!

Obviously one who came full of great intentions to join the fun of the Fayre and other couldn't be bothered! Buxom is the word to describe her I think.. Super shot. Rob

What a fun couple, terrific contrast for a portrait. She of the earlier age, he of the present. They're both colorful, but he's of such a different time and look. His purple and brown are so different from her yellowish greens, whites and dabs of red. A vivid couple. They're also looking at something out of frame, and their faces are very engaging. A fine portrait. And he's wearing fatigue pants! What a combination here, lol!!! I like "Love Knots" in the background, very fitting for this couple. And the knife---well, in earlier centuries, just about everyone carried a knife, for protection, for use---to cut through wood, branches, to cut up meat or fruit as you say, or just to show any onlooker that you're not to be messed with. Women were vulnerable all the time, so that knife no doubt came in handy. It's a cool knife! Really fine portrait, Harry. A real combo of now and then. More fine portraiture from this series. I'm over an hour once again, and I want to visit some other galleries, so I'll move on for now. But I'll be back. I'm determined to get to the top of your gallery. I'm well into page one, for now, which is an accomplishment! A joyous place to stop.
