Description
Hi all.
I've had a few days of server AND computer problems, and I'm getting a brand new computer this week.
But as some of you noticed, some of my comments were lost via drop-outs of the web. So if some of you got ebots that led to nothing, that's why. I'll replace everything that was missed, in the next day or so.
In the meantime, an odd shot of zebras in November light. I figured, after my Tiger drawing of 2 uploads back, I'd better try to redeem myself.
I hope you're all well,
and thanks as always for looking at my work,
Mark
Please see full, it's long...

I don't think I've seen this kind with the narrow stripes before; isn't nature amazing? These are some amazing animals, that's for sure. I love that you have them in mono, and that you captured those long shadows in the habitat too. See, you CAN shoot animals! I told you! So there, neener neener....LOL!

Great image, a perfect B&W choice for zebras!

Thanks for sharing, ice work.

I really love looking at Zebras - their markings fascinate me. I like this shot, especially the way the light is catching the mane.

Neener, neener? Low angle sun more than apparent in this startling posting, Mark. Clarity, extreme light and shadow effects dominate this fine photo from end to end. The footprints alone would make a separate eye opener all on their own. Hope you have unfettered success with your new computer, my friend.

So this one zebra said to the other, "Who is this Mark fellow who is using us to make up for some tiger? I hope we're not to become exotic hamburger in the process." The other replied in a bit of a snit, "Well here's to you Mr. Mark...my backside to you and all your other friends on Rendo, whatever that is!" Like this at the zoom...so much to see:)

I love this most unexpected composition! The bold framework with the interest of the striped stockade fence echoing the coats of the animals works so well, as does the letterbox crop. Very clever!

I feel I am sneaking to get a peek into the zoo, for to see these fantastic animals. Maybe that is what you did one early sunny morning. It could also have been early spring where the sun is still low on the sky. Anyway, you captured the wonderful light and peaceful mood, I love how the sun is playing with the mane of the front zebra.

I love your zebras! Imagine my surprise when, after having looked at this image several times and fiddling with your last six, I came across it in the gallery and realized I'd never commented on it! I can't believe how disorganized I've been in the past couple weeks. Mea culpa. I'll try to do better! LOL! The way you divide space is always a revelation to me. This is a perfect example of it, and I love the look! That tree smack down the middle gives a "zebra" and "not zebra" feeling to this piece that I really like. an outstanding image!

Mark, this is a very cool capture that made my day. I love visiting zoos and the zebras are always one of my favorite exhibits. This stunning capture is really highlighted by that amazing lighting you mentioned. I'm so glad to hear you're getting another computer and realize it will take you some time to get all switched over.
