Reed and Skyler go with the trooper. There is very little traffic this late, so he turns on his siren and flashers and punches the Camaro. At one point, Skylar, who is sitting in the front seat, notices the speedometer reading in excess of 100 mph. They reach their destination in no time and pull in behind the other cars parked on the shoulder. There are two other trooper cars, one in front and one behind Eleanor. They can see a trooper putting the handcuffs on Leon, as they glide to a stop. Their trooper gets out first and tells them to wait. He walks over and talks with the other two troopers. The he motions for the guys to come on over. Skylar stays behind the rear trooper's car, but Reed walks to the front, glaring at Leon as he walks by. 'What the hell were you thinking?' yells Skylar from where he is standing. Leon is showing major signs of stress now. He coughs several times before he speaks. 'I am really sorry, guys! I really screwed up. I didn't mean for it to go this far. When I saw you guys a the Casino, at first I just wanted to renew old times. But when you didn't seem to know me at first, I was shocked, hurt and very disappointed. A bad part of me took control and I plotted some kind of revenge. I watched you guys very closely as we were talking and when we went into Mom's cafe. I saw where Skylar put the keys to Eleanor and that was when I started plotting. The icing on the cake was when my Mother talked you guys into dropping me off at my Dad's in Tucson. I don't want to go there and stay with him. He is a mean man, which is why my Mom left him. He used to beat us both when he was drunk which was most of the time! I figured I'd take you guys to the busiest place in town where you would be distracted by the noise and crowd and I could slip the car keys out of Skylar's pocket. After all, I have gotten pretty good at doing that these past few years. One of my survival tricks. I distracted you with that phoney story about knowing the manager and when I was sure you guys would wait, I slipped out the back door and took Eleanor. What I didn't know is that car is possessed! She started right up for me. I was planning on taking her over to LA where I know some guys that I could possibly fence her to. But we no sooner got out onto the Interstate and she went crazy. I barely touched the gas and she jumped to over 100mph! I tried slowing her down but the more I tried, the faster she went. I got really scared then and didn't know what I was going to do. That was when I zipped past the first patrol car. I saw his lights come on in the rear view. It took him quite awile to catch up to us. Eleanor seemed to be driving herself. After the second patrol car showed up and pulled out around us, Eleanor pulled over to the side and turned herself off. By then I couldn't get out of her fast enough!' 'Sounds like a pretty far fetch story, young man!' says one of the troopers. 'Come along with me. We will be providing you room and board for quite awhile!'
