Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!Â
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper! Â
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

Yes, those short little legs, reminds me of my beestie. Rosie is such a little cutie! Pat reminds me of one of our patients here who has suffered a stroke, she loved my turtle pictures so I printed them out for her.

Rosie is just so danged adorable! I fall in love again every time I see her. I'm sure she's of the "leave them wanting more" school of visitation. :P

Such a charming capture, she has a massive reputation of Buster to live up to and I'm sure in time she will become more relaxed and I bet the people there love her already... who could fail not to!.

A lovely shot, Andrea, and we can see that Rosie is looking for something else to do at this moment. Typical of a lot of dogs---yours are amazingly trained to sit with strangers so well, for so long. Rosie doesn't look unhappy, just distracted. And a loving portrait of Pat, with a contented smile, and contented posture, compacted in her chair and relaxed. She seems happy regardless of Rosie's distractions. Your shots of these people holding your dogs, and the love and ease in both, are jewels. It too is a great series of yours, and a wonderful record. Pat looks wonderfully at ease in this loving and lovely shot from yet more of your visits to older people, with your dogs. Always a touching series.

She has big shoes to fill, does Rosie! Buster's reputation reaches far and wide, but I bet Rosie will come close! A lovely portrait of one of Rosie's patients, and Rosie, doing her work so well. I am thinking about doing something like this with Leya .. maybe. If she ever keeps her feet on the ground for longer then a few seconds.

A wonderful photo of Pat and maybe Rosie just wants to visit everybody!
