The Oregon Coast has a lot of wonderful bridges from the 1930s, all with deco styling, and it's a treat to drive up and down 101 and see them! I'm not sure where this is either, but it's lovely!

Remember, in Oregon, when it rains, it pours! Something made that gully.

Great perspective, contrast and repetition in this snap of the bridge and environs, Marilyn. I've heard of a bridge over troubled waters; this is a common sight in parched Southern California, but it being in wet Oregon, most ridiculous.

Just in case, I guess. It's easier than going down one side, across, and then up the other side. What a pretty bridge!

Yeah, you could say this is a bridge over troubled waters, only reeeeeallly troubled 'cause the waters skipped town. This is a real Marilyn shot---it's so bold for several reasons: A big beautiful bridge (deco, as tara says), with such strong highlight---you went high key here---to make it really jump off the page; then a wonderful perspective, not only because it goes back so dramatically, but because you got a tilt, as if it's tilting a bit towards the ground; bold, again, for the stark contrasts in whites and shadows (love it); bold, because you cropped it right at the bridge-top, so we're really left with the gaping 'hole' underneath: Ie, you let us plummet down into the abyss by eliminating any "sky" at all. Bold because there's a lotta dark shadow below (in grand contrast with the bridge); and bold because there's no water down there: You created a big buildup to dry land! Terrific work. And I wonder if it dried up or it's just a bridge over a small canyon/gulley, etc. Whatever it is, a very dramatic job capturing it. Bold eye on you, that seeks what it wants and just goes for it...love this shot.
