Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

"Aw mom, wait up!" She seems more excited than he is. Nice image.

And every single place is just as perfect as every other place, isn't it? You make me want to go back. It's always been one of my favorite drives! When we came through there in 2011, I think we took two or three weeks. Wonderful!

Stellar capture of the mother and offspring, darkly contrasted against that multi striated background of ocean, which gets fuzzier and fuzzier as it recedes into the distance, Marilyn.

A real "in the middle of vastness" shot. The mother and child have a candid feel about them, apparitions in a big open shoreline. The background has many variations---land, water, land, water---and it's dotted with gulls, gulls, gulls. Because of your bokeh, the gulls are apparitions too, as if they're being hazed-out by a huuuuge sun. And mountains in the background, and a few people too...Whatever shoreline this is, you turned it into a series of smaller shorelines, jetties and inland currents, with a sense of tons of gathering back there, in front of which this mother and child just 'pass through'. Another Marilyn shot which takes us in and in...Very creative seeing. Glad you're seeing so much beauty this summer. I hope it continues all year!
